Products & Gemstones
We sell natural, ethically-sourced gemstones, minerals, and precious metals. Our collection includes rough stones, faceted gems, and finished jewelry. We also carry rare specimens from Ron Ruschman's network of American Mineral Treasures (44) mines, with documented provenance.
Every stone we offer is natural and documented. We work directly with master facet artist Ron Ruschman and other trusted lapidary artists. We can provide origin information for many of our stones, and we are committed to transparency about what we sell. Independent certification is available upon request from Sindur McRedmond, a GIA-certified Gemologist — note that certification may increase the retail price.
The Crown Jewel collection is a curated set of heirloom-quality gemstones, cut by Ron Ruschman in the 1980s and 90s and set in platinum. Each stone has a name, a story, and documented provenance. These pieces are part of a legacy collection and are available for private viewing by appointment.
Yes. We work directly with Ron Ruschman, who cuts many of the stones we offer and has chosen Lost Grotto as a premier outlet for his facet artistry. We also source from other trusted lapidary artists and mines. When you buy from Lost Grotto — online or in the lounge — you are buying as close to the source as possible, with full transparency about origin and craftsmanship.
Services
Yes. We work with a trusted partner, Sindur Fine & Antique Jewelry, to create custom pieces in gold or platinum. Whether you have a stone you want set or need help selecting the right gemstone, we can guide you through the process to create a truly special piece.
We do not offer in-house repair services, but we can refer you to trusted professionals who do.
A geode cracking party is a private, hands-on experience where guests crack open natural geodes and keep the crystals inside. It is a fun, interactive activity for birthdays, bridal showers, wedding parties, or any celebration. We provide all safety equipment and instruction. Learn more about parties.
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, or hire a caterer for the event. We provide the studio space, the geodes, and the instruction. Catering is arranged by you and paid directly to your caterer.
We facilitate jewelry-making experiences for members, including guided courses and workshops. Members have access to online courses and in-studio support.
The Club
The Lost Grotto Club is a members-only community for rock and jewelry enthusiasts. Members enjoy access to the studio, tools, courses, and a community of like-minded people. It is a space for making, learning, and connecting.
We offer two tiers: Rock Lover ($25/month) — lounge access, community events, and invitations to exclusive gatherings. Rock Star ($50/month) — all of the above, plus workbench access, tool kits, secure project storage, facilitated online jewelry courses, and product discounts. See full membership details.
Submit a membership application through our website. We review applications to ensure a good fit for the community and will be in touch within 3–5 business days. Membership is limited to 10 people — apply for the following month at least a week in advance. Wednesday Geode Socials are a great way to experience the studio free while considering membership. Apply here.
